ABOUT ME

Adequate experience in “Organochalcogen Chemistry” has enabled me as synthetic Organochalcogen Chemist. The research interest is to involve in the development of novel  heterocycles having secondary interactions to the chalcogen atom with specific emphasis on their synthesis and antioxidant activity. In this regards, several efficient antioxidants that showed very good radical-trapping and hydroperoxide-decomposing activities have been synthesized having OH group at the ortho position of chalcogen atom as derivatives of vitamin B6 and vitamin E. Computational chemistry has been used to explain the better understanding of synthetic, mechanistic and biological chemistry. Further, these antioxidants have been evaluated to reduce the production of reactive oxygen species in stimulated human mononuclear cells with minimal toxicity.
